Command: passwd - changing somebody else's password
Description:
By using the command 'passwd' high level Archwizards and Gods can
change passwords for any other player or wizard who is logged off
(neither connected nor disconnected) from within the game.
Syntax:
passwd <player> <new password>
Note:
The command 'passwd' is intended for setting new passwords for
returning players and wizards after a longer time who have lost
their password and the Password Reset Service is not working, as
there is no valid email address stored in Nemesis.
Be aware that the new password is visible in your Nemesis Session
and will end up in your history - of both - the shell (see also
'help shell' and 'help history') and your MUD client!
The character has to be resurrected first by trying to log in if
the user was inactive for a longer period of time. See also our
Password Reset at https://nemesis.de/lpc/bin/passwd .
But the user must be logged out - not only disconnected! See also
'help quit', 'help disconnect' and 'help Disc'.
If the above mentioned conditions are met and you get a message
like "Passwd? Huh?", you are not allowed to use 'passwd' ;-)
'passwd' is a side product of our web-based Password Reset.
