Stats are more or less static attributes of a player. In contrast to the
skills they don't change much during the life of a player. The stats of a
player can be seen by other players by looking at him.
They get created once at first login, get changed after a 'race' has
been chosen, get changed once more when you decide for a career (join
a guild), and then for a few times (5) the player is allowed to modify
his character slightly, during the learning phase in the guild.
He will no more be able to do so once he gets full master of his profession.
And now here's to the stats themselves, some are less important than others,
but it's up to the player to decide which ones are important for his char.
Constitution (Con)
This one barely sets the maximum HP (hit points) you can have,
the more HP you have, the longer you can fight.
Wisdom (Wis)
This one sets the maximum SP (spell points) you can have,
the more Wisdom you have, the more you can do magic. Simple
magic like 'tell' included.
Dexterity (Dex)
Your fighting abilities are kept in here. If you have high Dex you
are likely to be more skillful in fight and hit more effectively.
And some weapons might not be good for you if you don't have enough
Dex, you could even hurt yourself then!
Intelligence (Int)
The ability to use magic spells, items and the like. You may have a
lot of wisdom, but if you're not good at magic, it won't help you
very much. Launching spells against your enemies will be more
effective if you have higher Int.
Strength (Str)
Physical strength, determines how much you can carry, but it also
affects how much alcohol you can drink, how much you're able to eat,
and other little things.
Charisma (Cha)
With a good smile and a bit of humor life can be easier sometimes,
with Cha you can get discount prices in shops and pubs, and some
monster that would otherwise attack you, might like you instead.
But if you do not have enough Cha, then it might happen that
usually peaceful creatures suddenly dislike you that much, that
they attack you!
Flexibility (Fle)
This one has an important, crucial impact, it determines how good
you are at fleeing, when a monster attacks you, you might be unable
to leave the room, if you do not have enough Fle. It also affects
your experience gain, if you kill monsters that are of your own
alignment, with Fle you can easily change your own alignment, without,
you get less experience for those monsters!
Weight (Wei)
Some people are light, some are heavy. It might not be very important,
but your weight is treated in parallel with the other characteristics
of yours.
Height (Hei)
Height might help you to reach things that are placed too high for
others to reach, but on the other hand, if you're not that tall,
you might be able to pass through small passages.
Beauty (Bea)
Some people are beautiful. For instance elves are a lot more beautiful
than dwarfs. It doesn't mean you are nice (that's Charisma then), but
at least you look nice, and that might also be helpful sometimes.
